NCAA

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is an organization dedicated to providing a pathway to opportunity for college athletes.

National Collegiate Athletic Association Division

More than 1,100 colleges and universities are members of the NCAA. Those schools work together with the NCAA national office and athletics conferences across the country to support nearly half a million college athletes that make up 19,500 teams competing in NCAA sports. The NCAA’s diverse members include schools ranging in size from those with hundreds of students to those with tens of thousands.

The NCAA strives to make sure college sports provide a pathway to opportunity and lifelong success for the nearly half a million student-athletes they serve across 24 sports and three divisions. Their unique model fosters academic and athletic achievement to ensure that the student athlete’s college experience shapes their leadership skills and personal development. No matter what career path student athletes ultimately choose, their college degree will serve them far beyond their final game.

Divisions of NCAA

Division I schools generally have the biggest student bodies. They manage the largest athletics budgets and offer the highest number of athletics scholarships.

The Division II approach provides growth opportunities through academic achievement, learning in high level athletics competition, and a focus on service to the community.

The Division III offers participation in a competitive athletics environment that pushes college athletes to excel on the field and build upon their potential by tackling new challenges across campus.

USA sponsor tremendous academics and athletics programs, so it is never too early to start looking for your best fit. Student athletes should also communicate closely with their high school counselors, coaches, parents/guardians and mentors as they transition to college.

Beyond Schooling also promotes NJCAA and NAIA Colleges which are junior colleges.  Where a student athlete can gain athletic skills and hone their academics for two year and then transfer to a 4 year NCAA division college.

Apart from NCAA, NJCAA and NAIA sports there are many sports which are approved as Club Sports in the USA and other parts of the world.  College club sports in the United States are any sports offered at a university or college in the United States that compete competitively with other universities, or colleges, but are not regulated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate athletics (NAIA), and do not have varsity status.
