When is the right time to start college applications?
College applications are a quite meticulous process hence, require a yearly planner before your senior year of your high school. Students need to take time filling out their applications, thoughtfully writing about extracurricular involvements, unique projects, building up a whole profile and proofreading all of the information for errors.
Apart from filling out applications, there are other requirements which take time to fulfill. For that demand the most planning and time are:
- Personal essays
- Recommendation letters
- English language proficiency tests
- Standardized tests like SAT or ACT scores.
It is highly advisable to start getting ready well in advance for applications abroad.
It takes a lot of planning, brainstorming and time to finalise on a potential list of colleges and fulfill each college requirement. In this process not only students, parents and your mentors are involved but this also requires an active participation from the school authorities and school counselors to work on the letter of recommendations, transcripts, school nominations for scholarships and so on.
Reiterating the above:
The process of applying for undergraduate study abroad begins during the spring/summer at the end of class 11th. Students need not to panic if their class 12 year has started and they are just getting started with the application process; they simply need to work at a faster pace. And if they are in the GCSE year, they can get a leg up on the process by starting early.
